Moving home can be a daunting task and with so much to do, it can be difficult to keep on top of your list. However, once you are unpacked and everything is beginning to calm down, there are some things that you could do to help you settle in.

Join a local club

A great way to settle into your new home is to join a local club. Whether you’re into sports and outdoor activity or arts and crafts, there’s bound to be a club or class that you’d enjoy. This is a great way to meet new people as well as take your mind off the house and move.

Get to know the local area

You’ve picked the location for a reason now get out and explore! From local sights to restaurants and bars, spend a day exploring your new hometown and get to know the best spots.

Have some new keys cut

This may sound obvious but you really don’t want to end up losing your only key! Get a key cut for yourself and anyone else you intend on giving one too, it will save those moments where you’re locked out and wishing you had done so earlier!

List local services

Take some time to list a few services from your local garage and post office to the plumber, you never quite know when you’ll need them! Having these contacts on hand is a great help when things don’t go to plan.

Introduce Yourself

Whether you pop round to introduce yourself to the neighbour or say hello in the local shop, meeting new people is a great way to settle in and feel more at home.

The most important thing you can do is to relax and enjoy your new home. Take the time to enjoy yourself and don’t stress too much, leave the packing, unpacking and moving stress to us!
